Invasive Species – Report Card

Number of livestock that farmers report as killed by wild dogs per year in the Northern Agricultural Region.

These data were obtained from the Central Wheatbelt Biosecurity Association Annual Report 2021. Farmers who are members of the CWBA report their livestock losses on a monthly basis, indicating the number of sheep and goats lost to attacks by wild dogs. These data are only available for the Shires of Dalwallinu, Morawa and Perenjori. These data will be updated annually, following the release of the latest CWBA annual report.

Distribution and density of feral pigs in Northern Agricultural Region.

These data were obtained from the Western Australian Feral Pig Strategy 2020-2025, developed by the Biosecurity team at the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development. These data will be updated every five years, following the release of the latest Feral Pig Strategy report.

Infestation with and treatment of weeds (Skeleton Weed Chondrilla juncea) in the Northern Agricultural Region.

These data were obtained from the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development annual Skeleton Weed Program Report to Grain Growers 2018-2019. The report presents data on the area of new infestations with Skeleton Weed and the area under winter treatment for the Northern Region, which includes all of the Local Government Authority areas in the Northern Agricultural Region as well as Wongan-Ballidu, Koorda and Chittering. These data will be updated annually as the latest DPIRD Skeleton Weed report is released.
