Regional Vision & Goal Statements

Vision and goal statements were developed in consultation with the natural resource management community in the Northern Agricultural Region, including farmers, Traditional Custodians, government officials, research scientists, community environmental group members and representatives of conservation NGOs and producer groups. We conducted 12 thematic consultation workshops (six online and six in person) with a total of 135 local experts and interested parties. These workshops were focused on collectively developing and refining the vision statements and targets. We then presented the draft vision and goal statements for public comment via an online survey and received a further 26 responses. All input has been incorporated into the vision and goal statements presented in this section. Indicative actions provide examples of activities under each of the goals. These examples are not, and are not intended to be, exhaustive. This version of the NRM strategy commenced 1 July 2021 and all goal statements are measured as progress since that date.
